I am really here...I do keep up with your blogs...really...really and truly... I haven't kept up with mine...
These last two years have been pretty awful for me health-wise..I hate to whinge and whine and feel sorry for myself...2011 was the year of bones, surgery and rehabbing my knees back to a reasonable function without too much discomfort... 2012 was a continuation of that and something a little more private and personal..so,although words went through my mind " later on today,I will post those photos and write something about my life" or similar..It never happened.
How to say it?... We can all think on that one... as I will close and come back later.. Am thinking of all my Aussie pals who are dealing with fire and water issues... take care..

Today is Sunday September 2nd; the time 0630 I have been awake for two hours....Jordi is now stretched out on my bed space...fast asleep....She wasn't,two hours ago...Something had alerted her..and out to the back yard, she ran....barked and barked...She sure does talk a lot!....back inside, she ran from window to window...intent on informing the whole neighborhood to be aware... a SKUNK was there...in her territory....She was brave...She talked that smelly little being outta here...and only a hint of Pepe Le Pew fragrance...on her nose....
I found her speedy waterless shampoo, raspberry scented by Wags and Wiggles...found in faithful Walmart....and sprayed...and sprayed....it has covered the unique odor of the darlingly cute Pepe Le Pew....which is bearable....it will wear off, naturally,in time...
I remember dousing my other dog Kreesha,in Tomato Juice, when she had a huge battle with a skunk, protecting Heidi and her home....it didn't work...as Heidi can attest......Heidi, who had been blissfully unaware of the excitement going on at around 0200..was awakened by a black and smelly furry ball burrowing into the blankets for a cuddle?
Amazing what comes to mind in the early hours of a morning....photos to come...when I figure out the transfer from phone to here as the devices are not co-operating... Happy September and Fast Sunday to everyone...time now to get ready for church...

I enjoy HOT weather…and am not one to complain …for June and July Colorado has broken High Temp. records…maintaining 100' plus for lots of days…no rain….no fresh heat-relieving breeze…and living up to the RED of its name with a few dozen out of control fires…causing pain, loss of lives and homes…the WALDO megafire…350 homes and 22 lives…
Jordi and I are "resting" under 3 fans…it is now 85', inside, down from 90'…..the breeze is awesome!...
I have now been off work for several months…Still undergoing tests…and yes..my insurance benefits now continue underCobra ..I am waiting for the arrival of the cardiac event monitor…yes, it is coming through the mail…with a tutorial online on how to set it up…it has been 4 weeks since I was discharged from the hospital…wouldn't it have been so easy to have left with this device attached and working?..but no, ..it had to come from the office…which ,two weeks ago,I learnt was owned by Littleton Hospital..which is part of the Centura health care company…and guess what?…do not accept my insurance… because I actually work for the other Hospital system…so back to square one..and a new cardiologist appt. in mid August….so waiting again.. will they fund my "pay packet"….huh!..I wish… I have had short and long term disability for a few years now..just in case…I did not think I had to go through the mill to prove that I qualify for it… the latest and previous statement"under review" here's to another 45-90 day wait…let's hope I'm back to work…..however…I am under a medical directive of not to drive…a possible danger to others and myself…which is the same if I go to work….and more testing…..
I continue to wait….
I will be ever-thankful to my friends and family for their support….even if it is frustrating for all of us…
just over two years ago I had moved from my House-home to an apartment…last month I moved to a "room"…God works in mysterious ways..for that we know for sure..He has done it again….the family I am with are heaven sent…and that is another post….I just learned that the event monitor was delivered to the apartment..hopefully they still have it….

Another day
It is quite a different experience of Healthcare from the consumer side…
Sadly, I see a lot of business changes….
Private rooms are nice…and in respect of privacy and Hippa laws, necessary.
Being on a Ward ,reminiscent of my Nurse Training in the "olden" days..brings the feeling of closeness….and presence…our writing space was a table or two in the centre ..The sister's Office was for her(or him) and the Consultants tea parties as they discussed the patients' care…and the English Weather,no doubt!
Which is better?…I loved being able to "see" all the patients at one time….and them smiling and nodding at me… I would notice a facial grimace…and be able to help before it became a bigger problem..I think the patients themselves were given a hearty dose of togetherness and camaraderie with laughter, empathy and a lot of I am there too thrown in…
I am not totally alone…I have a TV,phone and my cell phone….I have my laptop and internet access…so I have all you….Another plus for the time we live in …smaller hospitals are built logistically…one can choose where to go..and one will usually choose the one closest…this has not worked out for me,being closer to home and friends…tho the 7th floor rooms and Nurses are wonderful!
I had fallen flat on my face last week…felt silly…I was walking across the car park to the Senior Center..it was our Friday craft together time…..I was a little stunned…but seemed ok. my face was not a pretty picture. I had an appointment with the Neurologist on Monday so thought I would discuss my fall and nose then. we did.. first thing… His first words were.. what happened to your face?…everyone had been asking so I returned with a calm..oh, yeah, I fell…but the weird part is that I can't remember tripping…A little further conversation..and the Doc was saying let's admit you for some longer testing…so here i am… EEG completed…cardiac work-up next...

The Adventures of Jordi and friends
Everyday is Play Day for the canine Community ….I think Jordi has a telepathic beam forever in place between the office and our #12 building of the apartment complex. Why? because #12 is where all her friends come to live….
I had planned an early (by 0800 at the latest)trip to the dog park….The Weatherman last night predicted breaking records of over 90' …and no cloud coverage….that means by 1000 am it is not worth the drive …it is too hot to play…the dogs visibly wilt and lay on the grass, which can be done at home…
I rounded up Jordi and 2 of her friends….we played,,,chased and fetched tennis balls…..chilled…then thinking it time to go home…as I gathered leads etc….we all heard a hissing sound…looked out to the field..a few sprinklers came on….Jordi did not hesitate….she led the 7 other dogs in the park on a sudden sprint through the sprinklers…I happened to have my camera …which is not lining up the image of what I am seeing with what the actual lens records…frustrating...
and these are her friends…..we are lucky to have 4 dog parks within about 10 miles of us..

How time flies….A comment I use frequently..Remember how long a school term was?….two years at least!
Let me update you….as it has been a while…
I am doing ok… health-wise I should be about 70 or even 80 in physical years…. I am not..it has hit very hard to have health issues thrown left ,right and centre…ahh well..I signed up for these classes…now to turn a passing grade into a beyond excellence and to reap the benefits spiritually…
I am moving……same area…
Wendy and I have been continuing our journey of recording our family ancestry. Last year plans for a "family reunion" were set in place. Wendy and I had been asking Mum to retell the important events of her life and who was who..who was where now.... Jenny had wanted to get together for mum's 75th Birthday ..had first mentioned it a few years ago…..Mum mentioned that she would like to visit the town where her Mother grew up. Wow… Now that was an idea… Originally, the thought was where and how to get the whole family together…changes happen…..and we are spread around the world in 4 countries,if my cousin ,Kate who lives in Paris,France is included…
My Nana.. Chrissy, was born today, 94 years ago, in the fishing harbour town of Portgordon,Banffshire,Scotland..
so that is where Jenny,Wendy, myself and our Mum started out. Rich, Wendy's Husband joined us too.. He is a Gentleman and so brave to spend a few days in an all girl cottage..especially as it had been 6 years that we had been together…
Her are photos….

Birthdays all week long....
I received a text from heidi the beginning of last week...telling me my birthday present would be arriving on Wednesday....On wednesday...another text...did it arrive?...no,I say.. the phone rings..it's Heidi talking... where is it?..I hope it is not lost...the penny drops... the parcel was "tracked' and the computer screen clearly tells Heidi it has been delivered.... another penny drops...it's almost 6pm....the office of the apartments where I now live is still open..I bet the postman took it to the office,I tell her..I've been out all afternoon.... alas...I never made it in time...so, I had to wait....my neighbours had planned a bbq... as Wednesday 5th Oct. was John's Happy Birthday (aswell as my beautiful and sweet Niece,Laurie)...and mine on the 6th ...we had a great time that evening..opening cards ,chatting..eating....Peach cobbler and cupcakes with candles ...
and the next day...I didn't even have to open the box.. on the side was the word
Kindle"... mine is the first picture.. the other two are not for sale yet... I love it....just love it...
Thank you ,heidi.. Love you lots and lots...Hugs and Kisses from me in Denver..to you in Virginia...xxoxxooxxooxxoo

Jordi saying Hi... and me ..
I have two callings in my church ward...I love Dove Valley...it was a really good move from Castle Rock...many of my work friends are close by....my neighbours have become friends and a great support to me..I hope they feel they can count on me too...I will introduce them all to you ,later...
what can I say about the spirits who make up the Dove Valley Ward... a lot!...I have been welcomed with open arms and a very large heart...
I co-teach with Pam...who is also a nurse...we teach Primary..the CTR 7-8 yr olds.. that 40 minutes is way too short to enjoy the sweet boys and girls of our Primary.. all the children and our class....there are 2 girls and 7 boys..not all come ...who knows what each child will remember of Pam and myself in years to come.. hopefully whatever we have said will help them to remember who they were then ..who they will become..and pull them out of the grasp of those who will take their soul given the opportunity...here are a few photos...enjoy..
Where am I?
How time flies...
I have been back at work full time since June 21st... my knee required a steroid injection to get the final kink out... I can extend it ..woohoo.. still feel the "band'.. scar tissue etc....now it will lock up at the end of a long day and occasionally inbetween....and they both look like very very old ladies knobbly knees..or plain arthritic..lol!
I finally had a sleep study....are we not all a little sleep apnoeic? Heidi has complained about my snoring for years..indeed, she has thrown pillows and whatever else would work to shut me up....I myself would nudge my mother to move and quit her snoring...now that we all know more about this major complaint...I would say both my parents ..Mom being the worst...exhibited signs of sleep and obstructive apnoea... my point being????..look below...
My first night of sleeping with prongs in my (broken) nose... no xray confirmation...but notable healing signs show that about 2 weeks ago, when I turned and promptly saw the ground rising up to meet me,my nose..taking the full brunt...did get broke...
I am now a fully fledged lifetime member of the group "the walking wounded and afflicted"....
My mother has always accounted my accident-prone-ness to the fact that a nurse has to experience most of what her patients go through....I'd rather not,mom...
Jordi...will be 16 months in September...I think I can say she has finished growing up and out!... She is still the loving, rambunctious and not so awkward lanky puppy that she was....she most definitely looks like a Grey Hound..and Lab. Retriever..Loves water..so much that after a sprinted run chasing rabbits and birds...has almost caught a rabbit..did catch a low-flying bird..I swear those birds fly low and just ahead to tease the dogs who think they are in for the score of the hunting field....Nico and I found her cooling off in a "stream" ..a trench filled by water from broken sprinklers... stagnant, green scum smelly water....up to her shoulders...panting...licking it up...looking at us with a smile of happiness plastered on her face...like the scum was plastered all over her...here is a short video of us taking her home..no, she was not allowed in the car...
Jordi getting hosed off ..don't laugh..her paddling pool is not small! it's a step in and step out size...

Day by Day....
Three weeks have passed since my Operation.....two of which I was "homebound"..... I had my walker....Ice machine to cool the knee....a cpm machine that provided passive joint movement....My kind Visiting Teachers brought me dinners.......what did I do while attached to the machines...I had decided to become a member of the ever growing Netflix community... movies..and TV series can be downloaded to watch on the TV or computer... I have enjoyed a B&W A town like Alice.....my old English Favourite..Poldark...I found this series in the section...British TV... and now I am watching Doc Martin.... A 40 ish surgeon who practised in London who, all of a sudden, developed a phobia of blood....and could not operate anymore... He came back to a rural town who's only GP had died...leaving the practice for Martin to take over...He has no bedside humour...He tells his patients how it is...and there lies the humour...for me ...the 31 episodes are nearly over...I am open for a new movie/series to get hooked on...
